IVF culture media and oil are the solutions in which gametes and embryos are handled, fertilised and grown in the IVF laboratory. The Vitrolife range covers each step — follicle aspiration, handling outside the incubator, fertilisation, sequential or single-step culture to blastocyst, enzymatic denudation, biopsy and rinsing — together with protein supplements and mineral oil overlays.
Next-generation triple antioxidant media (Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Alpha-Lipoic Acid, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine). Includes Gx-MOPS PLUS, Gx-IVF and Gx-TL. According to Vitrolife, Gx media improve ICSI fertilisation rates, as shown in multiple randomised controlled trials.
OVOIL is a light paraffin oil and OVOIL HEAVY a high-viscosity oil, both sterile filtered, for covering medium during IVF and micromanipulation procedures. For use after equilibration at +37°C in a CO₂ incubator or ambient atmosphere, depending on the intended use. OVOIL 1 × 100 mL (REF 10029; US version REF 10202); OVOIL HEAVY 1 × 100 mL (REF 10174).
Fertilisation media for IVF. G-IVF PLUS (REF 10136, 60 mL) contains HSA. Gx-IVF (REF 10171, 60 mL) adds triple antioxidants. Ready to use after CO₂ equilibration.
MOPS-buffered handling media for oocyte and embryo manipulation outside the incubator. G-MOPS PLUS (REF 10130, 125 mL). Gx-MOPS PLUS (REF 10173, 125 mL) with triple antioxidants.
Single-step culture media from fertilisation to blastocyst, designed for time-lapse incubation in EmbryoScope systems. G-TL (REF 10145) and Gx-TL with triple antioxidants (REF 10172). 30 mL.
Sequential cleavage-stage culture medium (days 1–3) from Prof. David K. Gardner. Contains energy substrates appropriate for early embryo, plus hyaluronan for ECM support.
Sequential blastocyst culture medium for days 3–6. Contains glucose, essential and non-essential amino acids, and hyaluronan for blastocyst formation and expansion.
pH-stable medium that remains stable after CO₂ incubation — no continuous CO₂ needed. Ideal for prolonged manipulation procedures.
Heparin-supplemented aspiration medium for follicle retrieval and flushing. HEPES-buffered for stable pH during retrieval procedures at ambient atmosphere.
Calcium- and magnesium-free, MOPS-buffered medium for embryo biopsy. For use after the addition of HSA-solution and temperature equilibration at +37°C in ambient atmosphere. 1 × 10 mL (REF 20700).
Bicarbonate-buffered salt solution for rinsing contact materials and washing the cervix. Contains gentamicin, salts and a carbohydrate, with the same osmolality as the other G-Series media. For use after pre-equilibration at +37°C and 6% CO₂. 1 × 125 mL (REF 10069).
10% human serum albumin supplement for use with G-MOPS, G-IVF and Gx-Series media. Virus-screened, protein electrophoresis verified, lot-specific CoA available.
Concentrated hyaluronidase (800 IU/mL) for dispersal of the cumulus–oocyte complex. For use after dilution according to the package insert — standardised, reliable enzymatic denudation. 5 × 0.1 mL (REF 10176).
